This post explains general steps to make a simple breakable and unbreakable glass in Counter Strike 1.6 and Condition Zero.

Map Installation Intructions:
Copy cstrike to installation folder of Counter Strike 1.6 or Condition Zero.

How to make this map:
Use Valve Hammer Editor or Quark (Quake Army Knife)
Required textures: halflife.wad
Required entities: info_player_start (CT Spawn)
info_player_deathmatch (T Spawn)
light (self explanatory)
Required brush entities: func_wall (unbreakable glass)
func_breakable (breakable glass)

How to make unbreakable glass:
Create a block-shaped brush. Cover it with desired ‘glass’ texture. Click the brush. Press Ctrl+T(Tie to Entity). Choose func_wall.
Use these settings:
Render Mode: additive
FX Amount: 120 (0 invisible – 255 solid)

How to make breakable glass:
Create a block-shaped brush. Cover it with desired ‘glass’ texture. Click the brush. Press Ctrl+T(Tie to Entity). Choose func_breakable.
Use these settings:
Strength: 100 (adjust if necessary)
Material Type: glass
Render Mode: additive
FX Amount: 120 (0 invisible – 255 solid)
